Alexandria, VA – A talented musician from Northern Virginia has joined many other musicians who have begun virtual concerts in an effort to spread positivity during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jason Masi started his “Quarantune” sessions as a way to continue sharing his love for music during a time where he can no longer be playing in live venues.

“Quarantunes” is a facebook live jam session where Masi plays happy music and streams to his page, which has garnered close to 6,000 likes.  He currently streams every other weekday from 5 until 6 p.m. and once on the weekend from 2 until 3 p.m.

“We are all in this together, so let’s stay connected and lift each other up during this time . . . In the meantime, I hope we can take this time to reflect, be present, and perhaps all come out stronger and more connected on the other side,” Masi posted onto his facebook page on March 17, after having to cancel the rest of his shows for the unforeseeable future due to the virus.

His virtual jam sessions have connected fans and have received plenty of positive feedback on Facebook.  He has already had 12 live streams which have totaled thousands of views, and each individual live stream is flooded with likes and comments.

“He is as authentic and honest as his lyrics,” says Kelly MacConomy, an Alexandria local and fan of Masi’s.  “So I think during times of unrelenting disappointment, uncertainty, and loss some consistency of a life that was but has now been capsized is a comfort. It gives us some hope that amid all this isolation and fear together we are stronger!”

According to his website, Masi got his start around 2007 while working with the Richmond based group, Jubeus, and he opened up for acts such as Blind Melon, Everclear, and SOJA.  In 2010 he began his career as a solo artist, and he switched to a more acoustic soul/r&b songwriter approach.

His website includes links to future shows, merchandise for sale, photos, videos, contact information, as well as his music which is spread across 7 different albums and is available for streaming as well as purchase.

Although it is unknown when people will be able to experience Masi’s music live and in-person, his virtual concerts seem to be here while people wait.  Relax, enjoy, and connect with others while listening to one of Jason Masi’s live jam sessions.

He accepts virtual tips for his music through Paypal, [email protected], or through Venmo, @jason-masi-1.

Tune into “Z-TV Live!” on our Facebook page Friday at 7 p.m. where our very own Catherine Scott will be talking with Masi about his music and what he has planned for the future.
