Alexandria, VA – Located at 625 First Street, the AKA Alexandria Hotel is now The Satire and officially part of the Autograph Collection Hotels by Marriott. In the hotel are the Wise Fool restaurant and the Bad Poet Café; both menus are being changed in the coming months to reflect the new direction from Marriott. The Wise Fool will feature the flavors of American cuisine and is available for breakfast and dinner while the Bad Poet Café is open for breakfast and lunch.

Both the restaurant and café menus will embrace the sense of wit brought by the concept that will fill the needs of both hotel guests and the local neighborhood. The current dinner menu offers a variety of soups and salads including the Golden Gazpacho with watermelon, cucumber, red onion, Fresno chili, avocado, kiwi, and feta in a golden watermelon broth. Another interesting vegetarian dish is the Confit Tomatoes made with garlicky confit cherry tomatoes, balsamic pearls, roasted garlic, and served with grilled flatbread. The menu features many hotel-style dishes including steaks and chops. A nod to fowl is the Fig & Goat Cheese Stuffed Roasted Quail accompanied by rosemary rice. Breakfasts bring some interesting dishes including the vegetarian Overnight Chia Pudding of oats, coconut milk, orange zest, date purée, and fresh berries. The Italian Omelet features portobello mushrooms, fire-roasted peppers, Parmesan cheese, truffle oil, arugula, and a lemon thyme sauce, accompanied by hash browns.
