Twosome Place Opens First U.S. Café in Old Town Alexandria on King Street

Alexandria, VA – Old Town has a new place to pair coffee with cake. South Korea’s Twosome Place opened its first U.S. café at 404 King St. in October, bringing an extensive dessert counter, specialty drinks, and a menu of savory dishes to Alexandria.
Founded in Seoul in 2002, Twosome Place has grown to more than 1,700 cafés in South Korea. Its signature Strawberry Chocolate Cream Cake layers chocolate sponge, cream, and fresh strawberries; the Ice Box Cake combines chocolate cookies with whipped cream and mascarpone. The menu also features an Injeolmi cake with roasted soybean cream and chewy rice cake pieces.
Korean-inspired drinks include the Dalgona Cream Top, Black Sesame Latte, Misugaru Frappe made with toasted multigrain powder, and Korean Apple Cinnamon Tea.
For a meal rather than a sweet treat, customers can order sandwiches, salads, a bulgogi bibimbowl, Brioche K-Toast with bulgogi and egg, or a Seoul Spicy Chicken Panini.
The King Street café joins other food-and-beverage businesses at the 404 King St. property, including Life Alive Organic Café and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.
