Go for a Ride: Alexandria Library Hosting Bike Ride To Showcase Local Art Oct. 2

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Up for a bike ride? Alexandria Library invites you to take part in a three and a half mile ride that will showcase the Burke Branch’s outdoor public art and Art on the Avenue in Del Ray. Called Le Tour d’ Alexandria Library, the leisurely ride will take place Saturday Oct. 2. It starts at the Burke Branch (4701 Seminary Road) at 10 a.m. and ends at the Duncan Branch (2501 Commonwealth Ave.)

Participants must be at least 13 years old. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Space is limited, so registration is required. To register, fill out the form HERE.

The registration website says that helmets are required. Masks are recommended if you gather with others and required inside all Library locations. Participants must sign a release of liability waiver. Though it is not yet available online, Library staff informed The Zebra that the paper form will be available at the event.

The duration of the tour is one hour. Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m at the Burke Branch. In case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled. Staff will contact participants to confirm cancellation.

The Library asks that people experiencing Covid-19 symptoms not attend.
