Alexandria, VA – Born Feb. 7 1982, W. Seth McClelland passed peacefully Nov. 12, 2022, at the age of 40.

Passed on November 12, 2022, age 40. Grandchild of prominent Alexandrian Bobbie Thomas, and co-owner and co-founder of The People’s Drug (103 N. Alfred St.), McClelland was a local force.

A graduate of Georgetown University, McClelland went on to become a Weichert Commercial Brokerage realtor and owner of multiple D.C. area bars—such as Mirror and Never Looked Better. In 2018, he ventured with Teddy Kim and Ian McGrath to revamp The People’s Drug into its current 1950’s nostalgic drugstore and lunch counter style.

McClelland split much of his time between D.C. and Manhattan, where his real estate work took him. Many people were shocked and saddened to hear of McClelland’s passing. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.DemaineFuneralHomes.com for the McClelland family.

A visitation for Seth was held Sat., Nov. 26, 2022 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Seth’s memory were made to The Human Rights Action Center (HRAC) and The American Cancer Society.
