ALEXANDRIA, VA – Papers have been filed with the City of Alexandria for the popular Sisters Thai restaurant to expand into Old Town’s newest, hottest commercial destination, the North end.

Established in 2012 Sisters Thai has two thriving locations in DC and Fairfax, and can boast over a thousand positive reviews on Yelp singing accolades: “The drunken noodles here were amazing, some of the best I’ve had”; “There are tons of vegetarian options here!”; and The panang curry and crispy pork in basil sauce are must tries.”

The Zagat review said Sisters Thai is “An encyclopedic roster of Thai cuisine…[in a] bohemian Old Town hangout with a Mosaic District sibling churning out exotic street food alongside classic curries, noodles and spicy salads. The colorful, homey interior features bookshelves, striped wallpaper and mismatched furniture with comfy pillows conducive to lingering over coffees and sweets.”

The application filed with the City includes plans for a full-service restaurant to be located at 530 First Street in North Old Town (where the Giant used to be), serving food seven days a week 11 am to 11 pm with dine in and carryout available, seating inside and outside, a full bar, and parking for up to 250 patrons in the new garage.
