Adopt a Pet in Alexandria: Meet Rain

Rain (Photo: AWLA)

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Rain is a 5-year-old, 52-pound dog with a fetching disposition. She can be a smidge shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to warm up. Once she gets to know you, you’ll quickly be showered with love, sloppy kisses, and tail wags. Rain is extremely friendly and social. It has been reported from her previous guardian that she did well with other dogs and even cats in her former home. She enjoys games of fetch and tug-of-war. She’s a stellar combo of active and relaxed and settles nicely when it’s time to chill out in the evening.

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is hosting a “Find Your Big Dog Energy” adoption event the entire month of August. All big dogs (40+ pound) have waived adoption fees. Plus, adopters will receive a big-dog-sized, brand new bed (while supplies last). Adoption fees are sponsored by The Nellis Group.

The AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. Founded in 1946, the AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals. The organization remains an integral part of the community by providing opportunities for adoption, spay and neuter assistance, education, and outreach. To learn more, visit alexandriaanimals.org.
