ALEXANDRIA, VA- On Oct. 15, Burke & Herbert Bank announced the launch of its new foundation. The Burke & Herbert Bank Foundation was created to help the surrounding community by supporting the organizations that provide services to this city’s residents.

“We believe that the best solutions come from within the community itself,” said David P. Boyle, Chair and CEO of Burke & Herbert. “The Foundation is here to support those who are passionate about improving their neighborhoods, and together, we can achieve our goal of being the quintessential community bank by being a dependable, caring community partner.”

Organizations are invited to submit requests for support. Click HERE to begin the application process. The document indicates the bank will “consider” submissions from places that focus on healthcare, housing, hunger, and education. Priority is given to those that have a bank employee as a board member, benefit everyone, and emphasize fiscal management and board member involvement. Read this PDF for eligibility requirements.

The Foundation, according to a press release, “is grounded in the belief that those who live and work in local communities understand their needs better than anyone else. By inviting community members, local leaders, and organizations to share their vision, the Foundation ensures its resources are directed toward initiatives that address unique challenges and create lasting change.”

Area representatives include Boyle, Seth Feibelman, Garth Kunkle, Billie Jo Newman, Jane Petty, Tom Powell, Randy Price, Jack Rossi, Jeff Rouse, Alexis Santin, Toby Taylor, Christina Waddell, and Angela Zirk.

Based in Alexandria, Virginia since 1852, Burke & Herbert also operates in Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, and West Virginia. The Foundation will aid people in those states as well.
