ALEXANDRIA, VA-It’s the time to spread holiday cheer. On Dec. 11, Housing Alexandria handed out 250 toys as part of the Toys for Tots program.  The nonprofit brought joy to local kids living in its affordable housing units.

“The holiday season is a time for giving, and we are thrilled to once again partner with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program,” said Elisa Mondragon, COO of Housing Alexandria. “We believe that every child deserves to experience the joy of receiving a gift during the holidays, and we are committed to making that happen for children in our community.”

The program aims to collect new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Children ages 13 and older receive gift cards.

Housing Alexandria is a developer that for the last two decades has worked to provide residents in need with a place to live and other essential resources such as renter assistance.
