Alexandria to Celebrate 25th Anniversary of Remember the Titans With Community Events
Two special events at Alexandria City High School pay tribute to the 1971 team and inspire a new generation of Titans.
Alexandria, VA – Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is inviting the community to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved film Remember the Titans and the lasting legacy of the 1971 T.C. Williams High School football team. Their story of resilience, teamwork, and unity continues to inspire pride across the city.
The celebration, sponsored by Comcast and supported by its Xfinity sales team, will feature giveaways, activities, and two special events on Friday, September 19, 2025, both open to the public.
Titans Tailgate
📍 Alexandria City High School – Main Gym
🕠 5:30 – 7 p.m.
The evening kicks off with a spirited tailgate, where fans can connect, hear remarks from school and community leaders, and show their Titan pride before the big game.
Pre-Game Tribute & Home Game
📍 Alexandria City High School – Parker-Gray Memorial Stadium
🕖 7 p.m.
A moving on-field tribute will honor the legendary 1971 T.C. Williams team, sharing their remarkable story with a new generation of Titans. Immediately following, the Alexandria City High School football team will take on John Lewis High School under the Friday night lights.
The Titans Tailgate is free and open to all. Tickets are required for the Pre-Game Tribute and Home Game and will be available online starting Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The game will also be broadcast live and recorded so fans near and far can join in the celebration.
