The Night Noah Harvey Became an Alexandria Aces Legend
University of Richmond Infielder Drives In Eight Runs, Hits Two Home Runs, and Rewrites Franchise Record Book

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Some games become part of a team’s history. Tuesday night’s performance by Noah Harvey may have earned a chapter of its own.
Harvey (University of Richmond) delivered one of the greatest offensive performances in Alexandria Aces history as the Aces defeated the D.C. Grays, 19-7, at Robert J. Talbot Field at the Catholic University of America.
The sophomore slugger finished 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, four runs scored, two walks, and a franchise-record eight RBIs. All three of his hits went for extra bases as he accumulated 10 total bases.
By night’s end, Harvey had established a new Alexandria Aces single-game record with eight RBIs, surpassing the previous mark of seven shared by Brendan Harrity (Western Michigan University) in 2024 and Mack Nathanson (Wofford College) in 2017. He also became just the 10th player in franchise history to hit two home runs in a game, tied the club’s single-game record with 10 total bases, and became the 18th player in team history to score four or more runs in a contest.
Having followed the Alexandria Aces since the club’s inaugural season in 2008, this writer can recall few individual performances that compare to what Harvey accomplished Tuesday night. His eight-RBI night ranks among the finest offensive displays in franchise history and is one that coaches, teammates, and fans will not soon forget.
Just about every time Alexandria put together a rally, Harvey seemed to be in the middle of it.
His first home run came in the second inning, a solo shot that made it 4-0. Harvey reached again in the third inning and later scored on a bases-loaded walk issued to Jackson Sgro (Haverford), helping the Aces build an 8-0 advantage.
The D.C. Grays answered with six runs in the bottom of the third inning to cut the deficit to 8-6, but Alexandria quickly responded and never looked back.
Harvey scored again in the fifth inning on a wild pitch, giving the Aces a 9-6 lead.
Then came the eighth inning.
With the bases loaded and Alexandria leading 11-6, Harvey launched a grand slam, driving in four runs and extending the lead to 15-6.
In the ninth inning, Harvey delivered the final blow, lining a double to left field that scored Griffin Booth (La Salle University), Sam Dinitz (Mount St. Mary’s), and Liam Irving (Allegheny College). The three-run double made it 19-6 and capped his record-setting night.
Aces Head Coach Brian Wirth said Harvey’s breakout performance was the result of patience and trust in his approach despite a slow start to the summer season.
“He was scuffling a little the first week (2-for-16), but hitting baseballs right at people,” Wirth said. “Going back to last week, he was hitting the ball hard right at people with nothing to show for it.”
Wirth said Harvey never abandoned his approach at the plate.
“He’s been swinging at good pitches so far this season. He just made some small adjustments with timing,” Wirth said. “Excited to see how he will continue to grow this summer.”
According to Wirth, Harvey’s mindset never changed despite the early-season results.
“Didn’t panic with the slow start, stuck to his plan at the plate,” Wirth said.
Alexandria’s offense received plenty of support throughout the lineup.
Daniel McGinnis (Eastern Mennonite) went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Matthew Pazak (University of Pennsylvania) finished 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two RBIs, and a run scored. Elijah Grant (Presbyterian) collected two hits, including a triple, drove in two runs, scored twice, and stole two bases. Jack Warner (University of Pennsylvania) added two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored, while Cooper Scott (Dallas College Mountain View) crossed the plate three times.
On the mound, Cooper Ansbach (Penn State Hazleton) started for the Aces and worked three innings. Braxtyn Vackar (Southeastern University) tossed two scoreless innings, Brody Shawn (High Point University) added a scoreless frame, and Jack Feehery (Duke) worked the final three innings to earn the victory.
The Grays erupted for six runs in the third inning and added another in the ninth. Parker Shenman (Catholic University) homered, Xavier Bradley (Southern University) doubled home a run, Ryan Stoddard (Lafayette College) tripled and drove in two runs, and Drew Rybinski (Georgetown University) collected two hits, including an RBI double. Evan Wilson (University of Richmond) scored twice, stole a base, and reached base four times on walks.
After surrendering six runs in the third inning, the Aces settled down and pulled away for the 19-7 victory.
On an early June evening in the nation’s capital, Noah Harvey didn’t just help the Alexandria Aces win a baseball game. He etched his name into franchise history and delivered a performance worthy of the headline: the night Noah Harvey became an Alexandria Aces legend.
