Bastille’s Juan Ramirez Wins 2026 RAMMY Award for Manager of the Year
Old Town Alexandria restaurant leader earns one of the region’s top hospitality honors

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Old Town Alexandria has another reason to celebrate its restaurant scene. Juan Ramirez, General Manager of Bastille Brasserie & Bar, has been named Manager of the Year at the 2026 RAMMY Awards, one of the Washington region’s most recognized honors for restaurants and hospitality professionals.
The RAMMY Awards, presented by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, recognize outstanding talent across the D.C., Maryland and Virginia dining scene. The 2026 winners were announced June 29 at Arena Stage at The Wharf. Ramirez’s win places Bastille, located at 607 N. Fayette Street, among the region’s standout hospitality teams.
Bastille celebrated the news with joy on social media, writing: “It’s official!!! We have THE MOST AMAZING MANAGER IN THE DMV!!!!!!!”
Ramirez was one of two Alexandria restaurant leaders nominated in the category this year. Todd Hunt of Oak Steakhouse Alexandria in Old Town North was also a finalist, giving Alexandria a strong showing in one of the RAMMYs’ major individual award categories.
The RAMMYs describe the Manager of the Year honor as recognizing a non-owner manager or general manager who demonstrates professionalism, leadership, outstanding service, a strong work ethic and a positive influence on coworkers.
Ramirez’s win drew warm congratulations from across Alexandria’s hospitality community. Hunt, his fellow nominee from Oak Steakhouse Alexandria, posted a gracious message on Bastille’s Facebook page: “Congratulations Juan! To you and the entire Bastille team! Our Old Town North neighborhood rocks!”

Bastille Brasserie & Bar, founded by Christophe and Michelle Poteaux, is known for its modern French cooking, polished service and neighborhood hospitality. The restaurant has long been a local favorite in Alexandria and has earned past recognition from diners and regional awards programs.
For Bastille, the RAMMY win is not only a personal achievement for Ramirez, but also a proud moment for the team behind one of Alexandria’s best-known restaurants.
And for Alexandria diners, it is another reminder that some of the region’s finest hospitality can be found right here at home.
