ALEXANDRIA, VA – Alexandria voters who cannot make weekday hours get a new option Sunday, when Beatley Central Library opens for in-person early voting.

Both Beatley, 5005 Duke St., and the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 N. Royal St., Suite 100, will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.

The Zebra’s September election guide already explained what is on the Nov. 3 ballot, including federal races and three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution. Our early-voting guide is here.

Sunday is the first of several expanded voting periods. Beatley will return for weekend and extended weekday hours through Oct. 31, while the Royal Street office adds evening and weekend hours as Election Day approaches.

Two deadlines are also approaching: Friday, Oct. 23, is the deadline to register in advance or update a registration, and it is also the deadline for the elections office to receive a request for a mail ballot. Same-day registration remains available later, but those voters cast provisional ballots.
