ALEXANDRIA, VA — Twelve income-restricted apartments are opening at Newport Village on West Braddock Road, the City of Alexandria announced Tuesday.

The garden-style community at 4757 W. Braddock Road is offering two- and three-bedroom apartments for households earning between 40% and 50% of the area median income. The City says eight apartments will be available in November and four in December.

Monthly rents are listed at $1,278 for one two-bedroom apartment at 40% AMI; $1,652 for nine two-bedroom apartments at 50% AMI; and $1,898 for two three-bedroom apartments at 50% AMI.

Minimum qualifying income ranges from $38,340 for the 40% AMI two-bedroom to $56,960 for a three-bedroom at 50% AMI. Maximum income depends on household size. For example, the maximum for a four-person household is $66,440 for the 40% AMI unit and $83,050 for the 50% AMI units.

Applicants should also factor in utilities and fees. Residents pay electricity, gas, water, sewer and trash. The property lists a mandatory $70 monthly technology/Wi-Fi fee, a $15 monthly package-locker fee, a $60 application fee for each applicant over 18, a $225 holding deposit and a minimum $300 deposit. Discounted parking for the first registered vehicle is $52 per month.

Amenities include a pool and sundeck, fitness center, clubhouse, grilling and picnic areas, dog park and playground.

How to apply
