Exploring Blockchain

Exploring Blockchain is a 2-hour interactive workshop on February 27, 1 to 3 p.m. We will learn with David Bieri – Virginia Tech Associate Professor of Urban Affairs and Associate Professor of Economics, – about Blockchain at a practical level, including applications such as finance, social media, voting mechanisms and digital identity. Blockchain is the technology we are on track to use for digital identity security and more. Learn about it now to be ahead of the curve.

Data Analytics

Our Data Analytics short course will begin in March and run through September. Designed by Virginia Tech Professor Emeritus of Accounting Information Systems, Tarun Sen, Data Analytics was created for those who want to get into the data analytics field or those already in the industry who want to advance their career and keep up with current knowledge trends. Taught by Virginia Tech facilitators, the course consists of six modules that take a deep dive into Python, data management, predictive analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, clustering methods and big data. Complete the course with hands-on projects that will build your portfolio, giving future employers a tangible example of skills. Participants will receive a certificate of completion (with Continuing Education Units) and practical experience for the career world.
