The Office of Historic Alexandria has announced the retirement of James C. Mackay III, long-time director of The Lyceum, Alexandria’s History Museum, on October 1, 2017.  During his professional career, Jim worked at several OHA facilities and served as Acting Director of the department in 2006/2007 after the retirement of Jean Taylor Federico. Jim was also an expert in local history and engaging lecturer on many aspects of Alexandria history. His latest achievement is the exhibit Alexandrians Fight the Great War which recently opened at The Lyceum.  All OHA staff wish Jim the best on his well-deserved retirement.  Until a search for a new director is initiated, Curator Kristin Lloyd has been named Acting Director of the Lyceum.
