Alexandria, VA – Alexandria’s waterfront is getting a tropical twist this season with the opening of a Tiki pop-up bar inside Vola’s Dockside Grill’s Hi-Tide Lounge at 101 N. Union Street. Operated by Alexandria Restaurant Partners, the space is filled with Polynesian-inspired décor and offers a menu of themed cocktails and island-style bites. The pop-up is walk-in only, with no reservations accepted.
Cocktails range from $13 to $17, with shareable punch bowls priced $32 to $39. Standouts include the Smuggler’s Mist with mezcal, coconut cream, and citrus; the frozen Kohala Lava with rum and honeydew; and the Mai Tide featuring white rum, agricole rhum, and tropical juices. Non-alcoholic options include the Lemongrass-Ginger Julep and Sunset Squeeze with non-alcoholic tequila alternative and grapefruit.
Food options lean into island flavors, including charred pineapple BBQ ribs, huli huli chicken skewers, coconut shrimp, char siu pork egg rolls, sweet soy wings, and crispy fish lettuce wraps.
The Tiki Pop-Up Bar runs through Aug. 31, open afternoons through late evening daily, with extended hours on weekends.
