ALIVE! Food Distributions Today and Saturday

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The local nonprofit ALIVE! continues to support the Alexandria community during this time.

The organization has announced upcoming food distribution events. The first is today, August 27 and the other is Saturday, August 29.

  • On Thursday, August 27, from 4 – 5:30 p.m., in coordination with Washington Street United Methodist Church, Royal Restaurant, ARHA and the City of Alexandria, ALIVE! will distribute bags of shelf-stable groceries at the parking lot of Charles Houston Recreation Center (901 Wythe St).
  • On Saturday, August 29, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. ALIVE! Truck-to-Trunk will distribute bags of shelf-stable groceries, fresh produce and eggs, while supplies last, at the parking lots of Cora Kelly (3600 Commonwealth Ave) and John Adams (5651 Rayburn Ave) Elementary Schools.

People are encouraged to drive through.

ALIVE! reminds those who choose to walk to the distribution sites to wear a mask and maintain a distance of six feet around others. Bring carts or bags to take food home.
