Alexandria, Va – Get ready to celebrate one of America’s favorite food holiday. National Cheeseburger Day is all about celebrating the legendary cheeseburger – that irresistible combo of a juicy patty, melty cheese, and all the fixings you love.

The cheeseburger was born in 1924 when 16-year-old Lionel Sternberger, working at his father’s sandwich shop, The Rite Spot in Pasadena, California,.decided to throw a slice of cheese on a hamburger? That single, cheesy decision sparked a food revolution and gave America one of its most iconic comfort foods. In 1935, the term “cheeseburger” was officially trademarked by Louis Ballast, owner of the Humpty Dumpty Drive-In in Denver, Colorado.

Fast forward a century, and the cheeseburger isn’t just food – it’s a cultural symbol, popping up everywhere from movie screens to backyard cookouts. And on National Cheeseburger Day, the whole country gets a reason to take a big bite.

Restaurants nationwide are rolling out cheeseburger deals:

  • Applebee’s – $8.99 Classic Burger + Fries
  • Burger King – Free Bacon Cheeseburger with a $1 purchase (Perks members)
  • McDonald’s – $0.50 Double Cheeseburger (App only)
  • Wendy’s – Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for $0.01 (App only, Sept. 18–22)
  • White Castle – BOGO Cheese Sliders (code: SAYCHEESE, Sept. 18–21)
  • Dairy Queen – Free Double Stackburger with $1 app order (Sept. 15–19)
  • Smashburger – $5 Classic Smash Double Burger

Whether you’re grilling at home or grabbing a deal from your favorite spot, there’s only one rule this Thursday: don’t forget the cheese.

I average maybe 2 burgers a month and that’s only 24 a year, but I would say take or give so maybe 30 a year. I am more of a chicken and shrimp guy. My daughter loves hamburgers while playing geometry dash lite
