Chef Eric Reid Finds New Home at Piece Out in Del Ray on February 24 as Wagon Wheel Food Truck Closes

Alexandria VA – Eric Reid begins a new culinary chapter at Piece Out in Del Ray. on February 24. After five and a half years of service, Eric Reid’s Wagon Wheel Food Truck will be closing on February 23.

Chef Reid is well known in Del Ray and Alexandria. His mother, Jean B. Reid was a well-respected educator in Alexandria. Her name now graces the Naomi L. Brooks Media Center.

Eric worked in many kitchens in the area.  He was formerly the chef of the Reserve at Del Ray Pizza. He opened French and Southern in Old Town in the Hyatt Centric. Sadly, the exceptional restaurant was forced to close due to Covid.

Eric went on to open a food truck, Wagon Wheel, at Fair Winds Brewing Company. After five and a half years, the Wagon Wheel Food Truck will be closing on February 23. Upon closing the food truck, Reid posted to his social media the following message:

“Thank you to my family, friends, and our loyal guests — for every visit, every conversation, and every shared meal. A special heartfelt thank you to Fair Winds Brewing Company for your years of continued support. As I step into this new opportunity, I will carry these memories with me forever. Thank you for being a part of something so special.  Wheels up, Piece Out.”

Reid will gradually add his own touches to the menu as he takes over the reins on February 24.
