ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Office of Voter Registration and Elections wants to hear from voters. The office is seeking feedback regarding Election Day precincts in the West End. A proposal, according to an Alexandria eNews bulletin, “would add two new West End precincts to help lower the per-precinct voter count and reduce wait times.”

Feedback can be submitted in the following ways:

  • You can attend the Public Feedback and Information Session on August 8, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Redella S. “Del” Pepper Community Resource Center. The Redella S. “Del” Pepper Community Resource Center is located at 4850 Mark Center Drive, Alexandria, VA 22311.
  • You can complete this survey: (https://www.research.net/r/AlexandriaVAprecinctfeedback) This survey will be available through August 21st.
  • If you cannot attend the Public Feedback and Information Session and/or cannot access the survey link, please contact the Office of Voter Registration and Elections at 703-746-4050 to request a physical copy of the survey.

The proposed changes only affect the location of a resident’s polling place.

Three of four precincts west of I-95 have roughly 5,000 voters. Virginia law states if more than 4,000 voters visit a precinct during a presidential elections, it must be broken into smaller ones.
