ALEXANDRIA, VA- An exciting new way to stay fit has come to town. Today, the Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities announced the Pop-Up Rec. Stationed at various outdoor locations throughout the city, including parks and schools, the Pop-Up Rec will encourage people of all ages to get physically active. There will also be some indoor activities.
Look for the Pop-Up Rec every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Find out more about activities and other offerings by clicking HERE. Those interested should visit the site weekly as new opportunities will be added.
Health guidelines will be in place for staff, participants, and spectators to meet all local and state mandates. Safety measures will include: virus symptom screening; the wearing of masks; enhanced cleaning between activity periods; and physical-distancing protocols, specified for each type of program.
To ensure participant safety and prevent the spread of COVID-19, indoor locations will have limited capacity.
