Swing to Bust Cancer Rescheduled for September 21

Alexandria, VA – Due to Monday’s forecast of rain all afternoon and evening with possible thunderstorms, and periods of heavy downpour, The National Breast Center Foundation (NBCF) is rescheduling the Swing to Bust Cancer to September 21 at Belle Haven Country Club.

Tennis cannot be played indoors due to safety reasons, and the golf course is already saturated from all the recent rain. NBCF Executive Director Martha Carucci couldn’t hide her disappointment, and said, “Clearly this is beyond our control and we hope all the players understand. We are so grateful to Belle Haven for working with us to reschedule the event at this time.”

The forecast is calling for up to a half-inch of rain Monday, August 31. Carucci said, “Even if we only get half of that, the club would close the course if there is any standing water, which is quite likely with the already soaked grounds.”

Registered players received an email from Carucci Sunday afternoon, and are encouraged to contact her with any questions or concerns. Likewise, players should confirm their availability for September 21 with Carucci as soon as possible.
