Alexandria’s Workforce Development Center Hosts Employment Event Thursday

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Attention job seekers! There are multiple upcoming employment events supported by Alexandria’s Workforce Development Center (WDC). All are to take place virtually. First, there will be a meet-the employer session for people ages 55 or older. Next, there are a variety of a job-readiness workshops.

Meet the Employer Event

If you have lost your job because of the pandemic, this event is an opportunity to start anew. The Senior Community Services Employment Program wants to help people aged 55 and over. You can meet their staff  virtually on Thursday, August 13 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Opportunities that result from your connection with this program may make you eligible for a stipend while you are job searching and training.

Job Readiness Workshops

To help Alexandrians looking for employment, the city’s WDC conducts ongoing workshops. All workshops are held online and are free to attend.

These workshops focus on various skills such as virtual job searching, building, a resume, and interviewing.
