Blessing of the Animals Returns to Trinity United Methodist Church

Alexandria, VA – On Saturday, September 27, at 9 a.m., Trinity United Methodist Church will host its annual Blessing of the Animals under the shade of its historic oak trees at 2911 Cameron Mills Road. This beloved tradition, held in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, is free and open to the public.
The morning is filled with warmth, laughter, and love as Pastor Grace Han offers individual blessings to each pet. Guests are welcome to bring any animal—dogs, cats, birds, or more unusual companions—and even photos of pets unable to attend. Each blessed animal will receive a printed certificate, beautifully inscribed with their name in calligraphy.
Dog treats and water will be available, and all attendees are encouraged to arrive by 8:45 a.m. so the ceremony can begin promptly at 9 a.m. Free parking is available on the street and in nearby lots.
“All are welcome—with no exceptions,” organizers say.
