Three-Peat: Titans Robotics Team Wins FIRST Impact Award at Chesapeake District Championships

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Titans Robotics team, representing Alexandria City High School, won at the Chesapeake District Championships for the third year in a row. On Saturday, April 6 in Petersburg, Va., the team took home the FIRST Impact Award. This win secures a place at the 2024 FIRST Championship Event in Houston next week, scheduled for April 17 to 20.

“I think winning the FIRST Impact Award is definitely something to be proud of both for our present team and our past team,” said Charlie Sokolove, President of Titan Robotics 5587.

The Impact Award is presented to the team that most exemplifies the FIRST Robotics mission to “transform the culture in ways that will inspire the highest levels of respect for science and technology while encouraging more youth to become leaders in these areas,” according to a press release.

Of 54 teams at the event, the Titans robot, iBeam, earned tenth place.

Titan Robotics 5587 is a nonprofit and student-led club.
