ALEXANDRIA, VA – Sophie, a mixed Norwegian Elkhound, and a beloved member of her pack in Alexandria, the Igasaki family, died on February 23, 2022 following laryngeal breathing issues.
She had been adopted from the Arlington Animal Welfare League nine years ago. She had the sweetest personality and loved people and other dogs as well. She brought love to her family, bonding with daughter, Aiko, until she went off to college, then to California.
Her warm temperament filled the lives of her human parents as empty nesters, into retirement, and through the isolation of the pandemic. Sadly, her life ended as she approached 13 years. Her surviving pack includes Paul and Louann in Alexandria, and Aiko in Los Angeles.
