Alexandria, VA – Organizers of the Old Town Festival of Speed & Style, presented by Burke & Herbert Bank, presented $25,000 each to its two selected charities of choice: ALIVE! and The Campagna Center, in a ceremony held on Market Square in Old Town Alexandria on September 21, 2023.

This year, the Fourth Annual Festival raised in excess of $50,000 as a result of its event held on May 21, 2023, and via other fundraising efforts. The proceeds were generated via the High-Octane Ball, a formal and fun gala held the night before the Festival; and through generous donations from sponsors such as title sponsor Burke & Herbert Bank, and High-Octane Ball sponsor Yates Automotive, as well as 110 car registrants.

The Old Town Festival of Speed & Style is a single-day, free event held annually on the lower blocks of King Street near Old Town’s waterfront, and around Market Square. Now in its fourth year, the Festival features more than 100 rare and unusual supercars, vintage wooden boats, and vintage motorcycles from around the world for up-close viewing enjoyment.

This year’s Festival drew an estimated 40,000 spectators – including residents, families, visitors, and car enthusiasts from across the region to view the array of high-performance, exotic, and racing vehicles. The brainchild of Rick Myllenbeck, the Festival is co-produced by a team of more than 20 Alexandrians who are vintage car collectors, experts, and enthusiasts. They all volunteer their time to coordinate this event.

“The Old Town Festival of Speed & Style has always been a commitment to the Alexandria community because giving back is a core value for us,” said Myllenbeck. “We are delighted to raise such substantial funds for the two outstanding organizations that we selected for this year’s event. We are also grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and all who have donated to the cause.”

To date, The Old Town Festival of Speed & Style has raised nearly $100,000 for local charities.

“The Campagna Center is grateful for the important work that the Old Town Festival of Speed & Style does to foster a love for classic automobiles while also raising funds to help meet vital needs in our community,” said Tammy L. Mann, CEO of The Campagna Center. “These funds will facilitate our ability to provide children and adults with quality education and wrap-around supports so that all are able to thrive and realize their full potential.”
