ALEXANDRIA, VA – Early next year, Alexandria Restaurant Partners (ARP) plans to open a new dining experience on Alexandria’s waterfront. The restaurant, Ada’s on the River, will feature indoor and outdoor dining with a 267-seat capacity. The patio will seat 105 diners and the indoor area will seat 162.

In development for three years, the restaurant will feature a wood-burning oven that ARP envisions as a place for family and friends to gather.

Ada’s menu will feature steaks, fresh seafood, and vegetarian dishes.

In a press release, ARP partner David Nichols pointed to the positive response of other ARP-owned restaurants as the reason for the addition of Ada’s on the River.

“Since we opened Vola’s we’ve watched the waterfront grow into a high energy, exciting destination – and not just for locals. Every week we see more and more regional and out of town visitors,” he said. “The success of the Majestic, and other restaurants in town, shows there’s an audience for chef-driven concepts.”

Ada’s is named for the 19th-century mathematician  Ada Lovelace, who contributed to the development of the first mechanical computer.

Chef Randall J. Matthews, a Maryland native, will oversee kitchen operations. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.

Ada’s on the River will be located in Robinson Landing at 3 Pioneer Mill Way. For more information, visit adasontheriver.com.
