ALX Community Event Raises $60K for National Breast Cancer Foundation

ALEXANDRIA, VA-On Friday, Oct. 20, ALX Community, in collaboration with VIP Alexandria Magazine, hosted a fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation at the ALX Community Atrium. The first-ever ALX Pink Gala raised $60,000, breaking its fundraising goal by $10,000.

Through the foundation, healthcare providers are able to provide discounts on mammograms and diagnostic tests to their patients uninsured or underinsured.

The evening featured a silent auction, giveaways, an open bar, drinks, food, and entertainment. Ayesha Khan, a reporter for Fox5, who survived Stage 3 breast cancer, was the spcial guest.

This month’s edition of VIP Alexandria Magazine featured breast cancer survivors.
