FHYAA Names Jackson Casey Scholarship Winners
Alexandria, VA – Luke Chambers and Avery Olsen from West Potomac High School have been named winners of the 2024 Jackson Casey Scholarship presented by the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association. The Casey family personally presented the scholarships.
Chambers is a member of the Class of 2024 at West Potomac High School. He has played basketball, football, lacrosse, and baseball through FHYAA since 2012 and currently plays varsity lacrosse at West Potomac.
In addition to playing with Fort Hunt, he has coached lacrosse and basketball and was a referee for Fort Hunt basketball this year. Chambers will be attending the University of New Hampshire in the fall.
Olsen, also in the Class of 2024 at West Potomac High School, has played volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse through FHYAA since 2010 and currently plays varsity lacrosse at West Potomac. She will continue playing lacrosse at UNC-Charlotte, where she will attend college to study psychology.
This scholarship program is in memory of Jackson Casey and a reflection on the impact youth sports have on the development of young adults in the Fort Hunt community.
FHYAA serves the youth of Fort Hunt and the surrounding communities, providing opportunities to experience recreational sports in an atmosphere that encourages and promotes teamwork, friendships, and self-confidence in a positive, safe, and supportive environment.
