Return to the Roaring Twenties: Lee-Fendall Virtual ‘Sips & Secrets’ Event, Sept. 26
ALEXANDRIA, VA – This year marks the fifth annual “Sips & Secrets” event hosted by the Lee-Fendall House and Museum. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the celebration will take place online this time around.
This virtual event is billed as “A Speakeasy Night.” Participants can join in on the fun from the comfort of their own homes. The event supports the museum’s work in historic preservation and education.
The online party kicks off with an exclusive cocktail lesson courtesy of Alexandria’s exciting new
eatery, King’s Ransom. Next, learn 1920s dances during a class a class led by acclaimed local performers Fidgety Feet. Musical accompaniment will be swinging jazz standards. And don’t forget to wear your best period outfit for the virtual costume contest.
The night will end with a special virtual tour of Lee-Fendall that focuses on its Prohibition past. The property was once home to Alexandria’s leading liquor purveyors.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about some of the museum’s initiatives and receive information about how they can help.
