Alexandria’s ‘Clear the Shelters’ Push is Huge Success

Baratheon meeting his future family

The families came. The single people came. Saturday, August 18, was a big success.  The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (Vola Lawson Animal Shelter) found homes for 52 animals, including 27 cats, 18 dogs, and even 4 mice!

They still have a few animals yet to find their homes, including long-term residents Olaf (you can find a very cute video of him here), Friendly, and Sweetie. The shelter reopens for adoptions until Thursday, but people can email with questions before then to [email protected].
