For Third Consecutive Year, Alexandria Makes Travel + Leisure’s Best Cities List
ALEXANDRIA, VA-For the third straight year, Alexandria has been included on Travel + Leisure magazine’s Best Cities in the U.S. list.
“This historic city, which is just five miles from Washington D.C. but feels worlds away, strikes the perfect balance between sophisticated and small-town,” according to Travel + Leisure.
Ranked at no.15, the city appears alongside New Orleans, Santa Fe, Aspen, Chicago, and Honolulu.
The magazine’s readers determined their votes by considering the following categories: sights/landmarks, culture, food, friendliness, shopping, and value.
Visit Alexandria, the city’s tourism bureau, worked to acquire the nomination. Its PR team created a campaign to encourage voters.
