In September, there were days when the temperature gauge hovered in the nineties with heat indexes topping 100 degrees, but Alexandria’s firefighters rose above and kept at the battle of fundraising. And over the course of a few days at many different intersections and high-traffic areas, the guys and gals out there passing the boot registered a huge success. The Alexandria Fire Department raised $43,298 for this year’s MDA Fill the Boot campaign.
