ALEXANDRIA, VA – Who knows what caused this new flower arrangement in a lovely vase to be perched atop a pile of trash in a can down by Alexandria’s waterfront? We’d love to know if you know!

Our events photographer, Lucelle O’Flaherty, captured this photo now being called “Flowers on Trash” on Wednesday morning, February 26, around sunrise in the Rivergate City Park, 2 Montgomery Street, in North Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia.

The Zebra Press posted the photo the same morning on social media with a “Mystery Flower Arrangement” headline and it received a lot of attention—one lady remarked, “Now I just have to know. Keep the investigation open!”

Maybe “the apology must not have been soulful enough” as one reader commented, or it was intentionally left for the trash team?

In any case, the photo hit a nerve and stimulated a lot of imaginations.  If you know the “rest of the story” please drop us a note in the comments or in an email to [email protected] so we can put an end to this riveting mystery.
