SCAN to Celebrate 30th Anniversary at Annual Toast to Hope Gala

Fundraiser provides opportunity to celebrate SCAN’s work to prevent child abuse and neglect: “Children and families are treasures worth protecting!”

On November 3rd, SCAN will host its 16th Annual Toast to Hope, the organization’s signature fall giving event. The highlight of this year’s event is the celebration of SCAN’s 30 years of work to prevent child abuse and neglect in Northern Virginia. Proceeds from the event will support SCAN’s work in serving vulnerable children and families in the coming year. Last year, the event raised more than $140,000.

This year’s event—with corporate sponsors including Wells Fargo and Custom Ink—will take place at the Springfield Golf & Country Club. Guests will enjoy an array of hors d’oeuvres as well as wine and beer tastings. In recent years, the presentation of a Live Auction, a “Bidding for Good” opportunity, and a crowd activity has added an element of excitement to the evening. This year’s program will be emceed by Kurt Schneid with Brand Ready Media.

During the evening, SCAN will present the 2018 Cleary Award to a special individual. The Cleary Award was created to honor SCAN’s founder, Dave Cleary, and recognize both individuals and organizations whose dedication and commitment to children and families stand out in ways that make a positive difference in the lives of children in Northern Virginia.

This year’s Toast to Hope is made possible by lead sponsors Robert Yager; Wells Fargo; Dave Cleary; Joe and Sara Carlin; Peter and Donna Cuviello; the Harbitter Family Foundation; and Custom Ink. Dozens of other Northern Virginia businesses and individuals have provided additional sponsorships and in-kind donations.

Tickets are still available and begin at $150. Learn more at www.scanva.org/toast.
