Alexandria, VA – In an open letter, INOVA is jumping into telemedicine, encouraging patients to arrange a video or telephone appointment so patients have consistent ways of getting care without having to go to an Inova healthcare site:

Why is Inova doing this?

Inova is offering video and telephone visits to lower chances of coming into contact with individuals who may have COVID-19 (coronavirus) infection. You may review up-to-date information about COVID-19 and tips for staying healthy on inova.org .

How can you connect with your provider?

  • Video visits via MyChart: Use MyChart to set up a video visit with your healthcare provider. If you don’t have a MyChart account, please sign up here.
  • Video visits via Zoom: Your provider may use Zoom for a video visit using desktop or mobile device (Android and Apple devices)
  • Phone appointments: Existing patients can schedule a phone appointment with their healthcare provider.

How will you be billed for a video or telephone visit?

Video and telephone appointments will be billed to your insurance. Some insurance companies are waiving patient responsibility amounts (copay, coinsurance, deductible) and are allowing video and telephone visits temporarily as a covered service, but you should contact your insurance plan for policy specifics.
