The city began something new two years ago, introducing an early fireworks show, to allow families with young children to enjoy the display too. Tonight’s first show is at 7:30 pm. Come early and stay through the night as the clock ticks towards the countdown to 2026, and more fireworks.

First Night Alexandria kicks off at noon today at the George Washington Masonic Memorial until 4:00 pm. Evening festivities will fill the Carlyle Community, Old Town, and Waterfront with music, food, and fun for all ages. This city extravaganza culminates in a second brilliant fireworks display at midnight over the Potomac River.

First Night Alexandria is a family-friendly, alcohol-free event. Tickets are $10 per person two years and older.

Prime viewing areas to catch the spectacular fireworks show are Waterfront Park, Jones Point Park, and Founders Park.

Public parking garages and street parking are scattered throughout Old Town and the Carlyle area. Take advantage of the free DASH bus or ride the Metro to King Street Station Metro.
