What Do You Think About Alexandria’s 72-Hour Parking Exemption?

The city is looking for feedback on its 72-hour parking pilot program.

Alexandria, VA – Nearly two years ago, the Alexandria City Council approved a pilot program that allows residents to park their vehicles to park within 1/8 of a mile from their home for no more than 72 hours. The city is now asking for feedback on the 72-hour rule exception provision, which has a sunset of Nov. 1, 2019.
The “72-hour rule” applies to everyone, even residents parking in front of their homes or residents with parking permit stickers. City staff are now determining if the plan should be modified, kept intact or scrapped altogether.

The public has until May 19 to submit their thoughts.
