Ambar Clarendon Debuts Weekday Breakfast Service April 2nd

Start the work day the Balkan way with a delicious breakfast !

Ambar, the nation’s capital’s first Balkan restaurant, owned by Serbian born Ivan Iricanin of Street Guys Hospitality, is pleased to announce the introduction of Weekday Breakfast at its Clarendon location at 2901 Wilson Blvd, 22201.  Breakfast will debut Monday, April 2 and will be available Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 11 PM.  Guests can enjoy a selection of Sandwiches, Burek, Omelets, Benedicts, Signature Breakfasts items and Sweets along with La Colombe coffee and cold-pressed juices.

One might wish to start with one of Ambar’s Signature Breakfast items including the Ambar Classic, two eggs (any style), mushroom hash browns, fruit and a choice of toast; Lamb Hash, rotisserie lamb, crimini mushrooms, Fresno pepper and two sunny side up eggs; Balkan Breakfast with pszenica, ajvar, homemade sausage, aged cows cheese, Ambar mustard and two eggs (any style), and the Sausage & Egg, smoked pork sausage, two eggs (any style), Balkan salad and potato hash.  Items from the Omelets section of the menu include Smoked Salmon with arugula, pickled onions, capers and red onion; Black Forest Ham with cheddar cheese; Wild Mushroom with crimini, shitake, portobello and spinach, and the Veggie with onion, red & yellow pepper and zucchini.  All omelets are served with hash browns, house salad and a choice of toast.

Those looking for Benedicts will want to consider the Smoked Salmon with spinach, capers and homemade cream sauce; Rotisseries Lamb with spicy cornbread and homemade cream sauce, and the Beef Prosciutto with ajvar sauce, kajmak and green onion.  Ambar also serves Sandwiches such as Caramelized Onion & Eggs with chives and cheddar cheese; Bacon, Egg & Cheese with applewood smoked bacon and cheddar cheese; Egg Salad with hard-boiled eggs, chives, honey mustard and root vegetables; Balkano with grilled pork, spicy salami and cheddar cheese and the Ambar Burger with a medium cooked egg, caramelized onion and cheddar cheese.  Sandwiches are served on warm brioche bread with potato hash.  A Cheese Burek and a Meat Bureka savory baked pastry served with garlic yogurt will also be available.

Breakfast dessert options at Ambar Clarendon include French Toast with caramelized Granny Smith apples; Buttermilk Pancakes with powdered sugar, kajmak butter and raspberry syrup; Fruit Granola with yogurt and chef’s selection of fresh fruit, and the Pear Waffle with poached pear, homemade caramel sauce and whipped cream.

Ambar’s new breakfast menu is complemented by La Colombe coffee and a rotating list of cold-pressed juices including Green with cucumber, silverbeet, apples and mint; Orange with carrots, ginger and lemon and Red with beetroot, apples, celery and carrots.  Breakfast items range from $9 to $16.
