ARLINGTON, VA — A beloved spring tradition returns this weekend as the Arlington Civitan Open Air Flea Market kicks off its 40th season on Saturday, April 4, drawing hundreds of vendors and thousands of shoppers to one of Northern Virginia’s most anticipated community events.

From 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the area near Washington-Liberty High School will transform into a bustling open-air marketplace filled with antiques, collectibles, household goods, and unique, one-of-a-kind finds.

Opening day is more than just a market—it’s a seasonal ritual that signals the start of spring for generations of Arlington residents.

A Timely Event for Shoppers and Small Businesses

As families across the region continue to navigate rising costs, the market offers a valuable opportunity to shop affordably while supporting local vendors and small businesses.

For independent sellers, opening day provides direct access to thousands of customers in a single, high-energy setting—making it one of the most important days of the year.

A 40-Year Northern Virginia Tradition

For four decades, the Arlington Civitan Open Air Flea Market has remained a cornerstone event in Northern Virginia, bringing together longtime vendors, first-time sellers, and loyal shoppers in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.

“Opening day always brings a special energy you can’t replicate,” said Patrick Malone. “After 40 years, it’s still one of the great community traditions in our region, and this Saturday will be no exception.”
