Celebrate Mom on Mother’s Day in Alexandria!

Alexandria, VA  Lots of restaurants and shops have specials available around town. Many offer dine-in, dine on the patio, or carryout/delivery. We recommend you contact them for availability. Most are accepting reservations. There are also other fun ways to celebrate the day with events all over Alexandria. We’ve listed many of them here but take a good look around town. Celebrate Mom on Mother’s Day in Alexandria! There’s lots of fun to be had!

Ada’s On the River, 3 Pioneer Mill Way, is offering brunch and their a la carte menu during the day.

AR Workshop Alexandria, 1212 King St., Special Buttercream and Cakes Decorating Workshop on May 8.  KillaCakes will teach you how to make their signature frosting and their decorating techniques.  Each guest will decorate 6″ round pre-filled and stacked cake.  Learn how write/draw on your cake creations with provided templates.

BARCA Pier & Wine Bar, 2 Pioneer Mill Way, is providing their regular menu on Mother’s Day. Sit out on their patio while you enjoy the Potomac River while sipping a beverage.

Best Buns: Order a heart-shaped, buttercream-filled chocolate cake for mom in Shirlington. The bakery is also offering Mother’s Day cupcakes decorated with edible flowers and heart-shaped cookies.

Bastille Brassiere & Bar at 606 N. Fayette St. is a go to for French cooking. The Mother’s Day Brunch features dishes such as  Poulet Paillard – Amish Chicken Breast, Spring Mushroom Sauce, Pommes “Persillade,” Broccolini, Carrots and Mushrooms; and Risotto de Saison — spring pea and Mint Risotto, Preserved Lemon Sauce.

Café 44, 44 Canal Center Plaza, Suite 40, is offering Mother’s Day specials including Breakfast in Bed including juice, coffee, pancakes, eggs and more; a smoked Salmon Omelet, and Strawberry Shortcake.

Cedar Knoll, 9030 Lucia Lane, provides brunch and dinner options available indoors or on their patio with views of the Potomac.

Clyde’s at 1700 North Beauregard St. is offering a pickup/delivery menu for Mother’s Day. Each meal is available for two or four. Reheating instructions are included with their meals.

Fresh Market, 3680 King St., is offering to treat your mom with a personalized gift of fresh Market Coffee or Harney & Sons Tea, along with one of our Belgian chocolate bars, a Root votive candle and gift bag. Don’t want to go out to eat? Order their brunch which includes a quiche, bacon, muffins, tropical fruit cup, fresh squeezed orange, and a lovely bouquet. They are also offering dinner for two.

Lena’s Woodfired Pizza, 401 E. Braddock Rd., is in full bloom for Mother’s Day. The restaurant is offering both dine-in and Lena’s to-go for brunch and dinner. Choose from a delicious variety of dishes and a full menu of beverages to celebrate the day.

Le Refuge, 127 S. Washington, is taking reservations for Mother’s Day. Enjoy their wonderful French cooking including soft shell crabs.

MB Bakery on the Go will have their assortment of cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, and more at their bakery at 3103-3107 Colvin St. and at the Old Town Farmer’s Market. Per MB, they provide fresh baked good hugs, handmade by real people.

The Majestic, 911 King St., has takeout and dine-in options available for Mother’s Day. All-day specials on the special Mother’s Day takeout meal menu include items such as seared salmon with lemon-dill vinaigrette and angel food cake with macerated berries.

Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway is providing a to-go meal package for you to enjoy in the comfort of your home. Choices include brown sugar glazed pork loin or roasted beef brisket and all accompanied by a dinner loaf, four sides, and a dessert. Wine and cocktails are also available.

Neighborhood Provisions: The delivery service from the restaurant group behind Evening Star Cafe is offering a special selection of brunch items for Mother’s Day, including pancakes, quiches, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls (sold a la carte or in kits). Add on gifts like wine, flowers, and candles.

O’Connell’s, 112 King St., is providing both indoor and outdoor dining for Mother’s Day. Enjoy their brunch menu at one of their lovely outdoor tables.
