Alexandria, VA – Hypergoat Coffee Roasters is building out a cafe and roastery in the former First Agape Baptist Community building in Del Ray, according to city permits posted in the storefront window at 2423 Mount Vernon Ave. The permit states the buildout includes a barista counter with coffee equipment, seating area, coffee lab and roasters area, and a small commercial kitchen with a hood and wash area.
Ramos and Deborah Joos founded the business in 2023. According to their website, “We’re not just about great coffee; we’re about great coffee done right. That means ensuring that every bag of coffee we sell has sustainability and ethical labor standards behind it. We believe in transparency and want our customers to know everything about the coffee they’re buying, from the farm it was grown on to the people who harvested it.”
There is no opening date at this time but you can currently get their coffee at their shop at 215 N Payne St. or the Burke Farmer’s Market.
