Fall Into Service: How Alexandrians Can Give Back This Season

By Courtney Gonzalez, Nonprofit Program Manager
Alexandria, VA – As the leaves change, fall is the perfect time to roll up your sleeves and make a difference in our community. Volunteer Alexandria (VolALX) is inviting neighbors of all ages to “Fall Into Service” by joining hands with local nonprofits, schools, and community programs. From packing food for families in need, to mentoring students, to helping keep our parks clean and welcoming, there are countless ways to get involved.

Volunteering this season not only supports Alexandrians facing challenges but also strengthens connections between neighbors. Whether you can give one afternoon or commit to a regular schedule, your time makes a real impact. Visit www.VolunteerAlexandria.org to discover opportunities that match your interests and availability. You might be surprised at how many ways you can make a difference right in your own backyard.
DID YOU KNOW… Fall is one of the busiest food insecurity seasons: Feeding America reports that 1 in 7 U.S. households struggles to put meals on the table, making fall food drives and pantry volunteering especially impactful before the holidays.

Calling all Alexandria-based nonprofit organizations to apply to participate in Board Impact Program
The Board Impact Program trains company employees to be ready to serve on a board. Effective board management is crucial to ensuring nonprofit success, and training people prior to serving on a board is vital.
