Two Alexandria managers, five restaurants named RAMMY finalists

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Two Alexandria restaurant managers are in the spotlight as finalists for one of the region’s highest-profile hospitality honors — a program often described as the local restaurant industry’s version of the Academy Awards.
Todd Hunt of Oak Steakhouse Alexandria and Juan Ramirez of Bastille Brasserie & Bar are both finalists for Manager of the Year at the 2026 RAMMY Awards, which recognize top talent across the Washington region’s dining scene.
Their nominations highlight a broader showing for Alexandria, with five local restaurants advancing to the final round.
Presented by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, the RAMMYs honor “the exceptional ability and accomplishments” of the region’s restaurant and foodservice community. The annual event — now in its 44th year — draws hundreds of industry professionals and has been called the “most prestigious award” in the D.C.-area restaurant world.
The comparison to Hollywood isn’t accidental. Organizers themselves describe the RAMMYs as “the Oscars of the DC restaurant scene,” bringing together top chefs, operators, and front-of-house leaders for a black-tie gala celebrating the industry’s biggest night.
Unlike national awards like the James Beard Awards, the RAMMYs focus specifically on the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region—and notably recognize not just chefs but the full hospitality ecosystem, including managers, service teams, and beverage programs.
In addition to the manager nominations:
- Matt & Tony’s All Day Kitchen + Bar is a finalist for Best Brunch
- Andy’s Pizza and Call Your Mother are finalists for Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year
Winners will be announced June 29 at this year’s RAMMY Awards & Gala.
