Alexandria Celebrates 10 Years of RecFest

Free, Family-Friendly Event Marks a Decade of Recreation, Community and Fun

ALEXANDRIA, VA The City of Alexandria invites residents and visitors to celebrate a major milestone — the 10th anniversary of RecFest — on Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4653 Taney Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia, 22304. This free, high-energy event for all ages is hosted by the Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities.

For the past decade, RecFest has brought the community together through active play, creativity, and shared experiences. This year’s celebration honors those ten years with even more opportunities to explore, connect, and have fun.

Explore Programs and Activities

Attendees can discover the wide range of recreation programs offered by the City of Alexandria, including fitness, sports, arts, enrichment, nature programs, out-of-school time activities, and summer camps.

Participants will have the chance to meet instructors and staff, watch live demonstrations, and sign up for programs and camps on-site.

A Day Full of Fun

RecFest 2026 will feature a variety of exciting activities for all ages, including:

She is the founder and executive director of Heard, an Alexandria-based nonprofit that teaches life skills disguised as art to underserved populations.
