Say Boo to the Flu With A Free Flu Shot!

Alexandria, VA – Sniffles, coughs, and headaches, oh my! The change of season brings about germs, along with cooler temperatures. In order to make sure that everyone has a chance to get a vaccination to safeguard against the flu, the Alexandria Health Department will host a free flu clinic.

Influenza is a serious illness that affects millions of Americans every year. An annual flu shot can reduce illness and hospitalizations, protect pregnant women and be lifesaving for children. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends an annual flu vaccine for everyone six months and older.

Do what you can to stop the spread of flu! The free flu shot clinic will be on October 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Patrick Henry Elementary School (4643 Taney Ave.). The flu shots administered will be for adults and children ages six months and older.

There is no need to have proof of residency or insurance. The Alexandria Health Department encourages all members of the community to get a flu vaccine.
